Tooting Bec Fees Guide

UPDATED BASED ON GOVERNMENT GUIDANCE

We hope you are well and are enjoying the beautiful sunshine. We are writing to you to update you with our COVID protocols.

From the 19th July 2021 the Government is lifting all remaining restrictions in England. The wearing of masks and social distancing requirements is no longer mandatory except for Public transport, from what we understand.

Our aim from the onset of the COVID 19 Pandemic is to keep our patients, staff, dentists and all their loved ones as safe as possible from contracting the virus. With the unpredictable rise in infection rates in mind, we at Tooting Bec Dental, aim to maintain a highest possible level of Personal Protection with the use of PPE. To date, we have thankfully not had any occurrence of any patient or staff presenting with symptoms, and we hope to maintain this level of protection.

We aim to continue with our use of PPE, and where possible, not charge additionally for the PPE. Our consultation procedures include the costs of PPE, whereas due to the nature of treatment procedures being a higher risk to aerosol spread, we would need to consider a charge to be implemented for enhanced PPE.

We have asked our patient recently what their preferences are regarding the costs of PPE, and 10/10 patients from a random selection (from the week commencing 19.7.21-26.7.21) have stated they would prefer paying for the additional PPE to give them the reassurance they seek to be safer when attending our dental practice. We understand that the additional costs may not always be for everyone, but having taken all the preferences of our patients, our staff and dentists into consideration, we have developed the following guidance for our practice. We require all patients to kindly adhere to these protocols before attending our practice.

Practice Policies

Payments and Fees

  • All fees are collected on advance over the phone to reduce the risks of contact contamination.
  • Payment methods include Cash (in a sealed bag in person before booking any appointment), Credit and debit cards (excluding Diners club and American Express).
  • We do not accept BACS payments due to the current risks of fraud.
  • Patients may be asked for Photo identification to confirm security checks relating to credit/debit card payments.

Before coming to the practice

  • Ensure you are familiar and are happy with all the guidance
  • If not happy, please speak to a member of our management team
  • If you attend the practice, we would automatically assume you have accepted the guidance set out by the practice.

Arriving at the practice

  • Do not arrive too early
  • Please arrive only a few minutes before your appointment
  • Late arrivals more than 10 minutes would not be allowed into the practice and be regarded as a ‘Failed to Arrive’ for the appointment.

Social distancing

  • All patients, staff and the team members should continue to socially distance at all times where possible.
  • Two patients in the waiting room should sit in the opposite ends of the waiting room and not next to each other, unless within the same family bubble.

Waiting rooms

  • Patient screening or triage would continue at the discretion of the practice.
  • Please sit in the designated areas only when waiting for our dentists.

What happens in the background?

  • Portal link to be filled in by all patients
  • Risk-assessment of vulnerable or risk category patients
  • Protocols for practice and disinfection infection processes
  • Ventilation and air circulation
  • We would only be able to book for treatment procedures after an initial assessment is carried out by our dentist

The above is purely how we currently understand the Government Guidance and have adapted it to our practice. This may vary from practice to practice. We require all patients to be completely satisfied with the above guidance (without debate), as we are unable to enter into discussions with each individual, regarding each patient’s individual preferences.
